DFW Car & Toy Museum Acquires Historic 1960 Porsche 356B Cabriolet

The DFW Car & Toy Museum has added a significant piece of automotive history to its collection with the acquisition of a 1960 Porsche 356B 1600S Cabriolet. This beautifully restored classic, finished in Ivory over blue leather, represents the refined styling and spirited performance that defined Porsche's early production models. The vehicle is part of The Ron Sturgeon Collection and serves as a testament to the enduring appeal of air-cooled Porsche engineering. Originally delivered from the factory in silver, this 356B underwent a comprehensive refurbishment that included refinishing in its current Ivory color prior to 2001. The T5 body, introduced for the 1960 model year, features key design updates including raised bumpers and headlights, along with a redesigned front trunk lid handle. These subtle changes marked an important turning point in the evolution of Porsche's first production model, bridging early 356 designs with later developments.

Powering this elegant convertible is a 1.6-liter air-cooled flat-four engine fitted with dual Zenith carburetors, factory-rated for the higher-output "S" specification.
