Concorde Career Colleges, the healthcare education division of Universal Technical Institute, Inc., has chosen Atlanta's West End as the location for its inaugural Georgia campus, signing a 47,358-square-foot lease at Lee + White's 929 Building with plans to commence operations in 2027. The Atlanta campus will serve up to 700 students at full capacity, offering training programs in dental, nursing, diagnostic, patient care, and allied health fields. Kevin Prehn, President of Concorde Career Colleges, stated that Atlanta's vibrant economy, world-class healthcare infrastructure, and persistent demand for skilled healthcare and dental professionals make it an ideal location for expansion.
The institution intends to establish new partnerships with area hospital systems, clinics, dental practices, and community health organizations to enhance student clinical experiences and job placement opportunities. Concorde's customized suites in the 929 Building, a refurbished former warehouse space, will provide a state-of-the-art learning environment while offering walkable access to Lee + White's extensive amenities including restaurants, retailers, a food hall, and the Atlanta Westside BeltLine. This strategic location aligns with Concorde's mission to create accessible career pathways in high-demand healthcare occupations.
Development co-owners expressed strong support for Concorde's arrival, noting how it complements existing educational offerings at Lee + White. Evan Ziegler, President of Ackerman Southeast, emphasized that alongside the Ogle School cosmetology program that opened in the same building over the past year, Concorde will bring new educational opportunities for West End community members and residents across metropolitan Atlanta while strengthening the diverse lineup that has established Lee + White as a vibrant community hub. Jeff Small, CEO of MDH Partners, added that Concorde's presence enhances the mixed-use development's dynamic environment for learning, working, and connecting.
Lee + White's transformation from former "Warehouse Row" to a mixed-use destination has accelerated since MDH Partners and Ackerman & Co. acquired the property in September 2019. The development now features a "Great Lawn" central gathering space, a 19-vendor food hall, and various businesses and service providers alongside popular breweries, restaurants, a whiskey barrel house, and climbing gym. The property provides Atlanta BeltLine access via four direct entrances, is located just half a mile from the West End MARTA rail station, and offers convenient access to all metropolitan Atlanta interstates. A planned MARTA station at Murphy Crossing will be within short walking distance from Lee + White via the BeltLine, further enhancing transportation accessibility for students and faculty.
Concorde's expansion into Georgia represents a strategic response to healthcare workforce shortages in a region experiencing strong demand for skilled professionals. The institution operates 17 campuses across eight states and online under the brands Concorde Career College and Concorde Career Institute, which are accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges and the Council on Occupational Education.
